Mundkur is closer to Jarigekatte, Talipady on one side and Belmannu on the other. We are fourth generation Christians from Mundkur. In my childhood (60 years) it was simply a agricultural quiet village, now it's more vibrant with bunglow type terrace houses, coconut and areca nut trees, peacocks which shout even in the middle of the silent night surrounded by forests all around. Hindus, Muslims, Christians and non-believers share the joy of the entire village during all festivities, weddings, religious ceremonies of all communities as if the entire village is one community. Mundkur was under the jurisdiction of St. Joseph's Parish, Belmannu and a separate parish dedicated to St. John Bosco (Don Bosco) Bola is built in the late sixties. In early 2010 a new parish is built at Jarigekatte, dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima hardly about a km from Mundkur. My dad, Jacob D'Mello is the son of John D'Mello, lovingly called Babu Kambhather by people from the village, died in 1972 at the age of 102. His father by great grand father was Mr Alex D'Mello.

Statements given above are totally miss leading, prejudiced and false. Politically motivated. No other family contributed as much as nadiguttu family contributed to the temple, villagers and society which was blessed by Goddess Durga to them. When there was no income to the temple family use to celebrate with the help of villagers on grand scale by collecting resource form selling agricultural product and by pledging jewel of family members. They were the devotee of temple and allocated Land to take care of pooja expenses which was initiated by their forefathers ( Partition Deed of the Family Redg some where around in 1957 Sub Regd. Office Mulky). but unfortunately major portion of land was gone to tenants under land reform act. Still Mundkur Nadiguttu family continued with its contribution to the temple. Even today family got high respect in the society. I request Mr.vinay shetty and Mr Ramanand Mundkur to stop commenting and spreading such baseless and biased things. And i would like to ask what wrong nadiguttu family had done to you or your family. Narayan Shetty Comlpex was not constructed not in Temple land and it is constructed on land taken from Late Shivaraya for lease (Moolageni) in 1928 and building was constructed in 1936AD. It was not constructed not for purely commercial purpose. It was given for very nominal rent or free of cost. As a matter of fact Late Narayan Shetty had to mortgage the property twice. Even today there is no other single commercial complex in Mundkur but Visionary Late Mr. Narayan Shetty done it in 75 years back for the development of the village and society. I do agree that it was wrongly marked front of the temple building as Narayan Shetty. But Narayan Shetty Complex is attached to Main Road. With Maas Grace even today Nadiguttu Family Members has got good education, health, wealth and respect all over. Finally i pray with Maa Durga to give Right Wisdom to The People to do some good work which will help the Mundkur Villagers and society instead of doing silly politics.

It is a shame on the part of Nadiguthu family members to dictate terms even in this 21st century. They have swallowed as much as possible either land or gold jewellery of the famous Sri Durga parameshwari Temple. Now at least they should behave properly and hand over the temple property including the northern side empty land which has been donated by Late Pushpa Shetty of Nadiguthu where few rooms can be constructed as guest house for the out side devotees visiting the temple. Hope this will be taken in the right spirit by the educated family members. Other wise all the devotees will have to complain to the concerned authorities to forcibly take over.

It is surprising to note the syndicate bank building in front of the temple is shown as Nadiguthu Narayan Shetty Complex. The shops in the south east corner in front of Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple Mundkur was constructed by Nadiguthu Narayana Shetty on the temple land. The Bank building is owned by the temple and even the shops being rented by Narayana shetty family belongs to the temple. It is better for the Nadiguthu family to hand over the temple property to the temple or else the concerned govt dept has to force the tenants to pay the rent to the temple directly.
